My unique design edge comes from deep, lived empathy for the user journey.
Born in South Korea, raised partially in Germany, and moving to the United States at age ten, I spent my formative years navigating complex linguistic and cultural transitions.
This background has forged me into a deeply observant designer and researcher who listens to what is left unsaid, ensuring the design I architect removes systemic barriers, lowers anxiety, and builds trust seamlessly.

After gaining extensive experience in sales operations across the maritime, education, and finance industries, I transitioned to UX design and research, focusing on crafting human-centered stories.

While my Bachelor’s in German was fueled by my love for navigating international cultures and diverse stories, I’ve since bridged that global perspective with Northwestern’s Information Design and Strategy program to master the art of human-centered design.

Inspiration flows through my life from various sources, particularly the cultural spaces that bring people together.
Volunteering at the Ryan Learning Center at The Art Institute of Chicago immerses me in the world of museum education and community-driven creativity. For me, art is the ultimate universal language. It bypasses verbal and structural barriers entirely, requiring no translation to spark connection.

Facilitating these inclusive art experiences lets me explore how people of all ages and backgrounds interact with raw creativity, giving me real-time insights into visual intuition, human connection, and spatial navigation.
It is a sanctuary where I get to share my passion for art education while learning firsthand how to make complex environments welcoming to everyone, especially those navigating language or cultural barriers.

This love for storytelling and community extends into other areas of my life. Whether I am taking casual dance classes at the Joffrey Ballet or exploring Chicago's diverse culinary landscape, I constantly seek experiences that spark meaningful conversations and deepen my understanding of the stories people carry.
